Barry M A/W 2014 Tribal Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paints

So today I have swatches and a review of the new-ish Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paints which have been named by Barry M as the 'Tribal' capsule collection. I actually like the name, it's very fitting with the colours and although none of them super excite me (I like bold rainbow colours) I have developed a soft spot for Barry M's slightly duller hues this year.

First up is Chai, a lovely stormy blue tinted grey, 2 coats with topcoat.

Cardamom is a lovely pine tree green. I used 2 coats with topcoat for the photos.

Mustard is Barry M's first foray into yellow in their Gelly range and it did not disappoint. Although the colour is not one I am a massive fan of I do like it. I used 2 coats with topcoat for the photos.

Paprika is a yummy warm toned gingery orange. I love this colour a lot! I use 2 coats with topcoat for the photos.

Chilli is a stunning red with a slight brown undertone. I think the red pigment must be really easy to mix with these Gelly bases as the formula was stunning (like Blood Orange and the red gel style polishes from Models Own). I used 2 coats with topcoat for the photos.

Cocoa is the final shade. I have to say this is the most interesting from the bunch. Its a plum toned chocolate brown which is bea-u-tiful! I used 2 coats with topcoat for the photos.

Overall these are amazing, the formula seems easier to work with than previous Gelly Nail Paints and I like that there are 6 new releases and not 7 like last time (easier to put in collages). My fave is probably Cocoa but I also like Chilli. These are 2 I will definitely wear again.

If my calculations are correction Barry M have released 16 new Gelly Hi-Shines this year (3 Muted Pastels, Summer Gelly's and these 6 Tribal Gelly's), so we've been really spoilt. I kind of feel like these are more Autumn toned and therefore not really fitting for winter. A little part of me is hoping that Barry M will release another small 3 or 4 polish capsule collection to add to the Gelly Hi-Shine range for winter, like they did back at the start of the year in February, ooh maybe with a white, deep forest green and red in. Either way I know that their new 'foil' top limited edition nail paints will be on the way soon (judging by past years) and that's exciting enough.

I bought these from Superdrug for £3.99 each but you can also buy them from Boots and from the Barry M website.
